About project

Our emotional project is the reconstruction of Taras Shevchenko Square on the occasion of the liberation of Borodyanka. The village has suffered greatly from the occupation, but has not lost its spirit and is already actively reviving.

At the initiative of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, this place has become a memorial installation that honors the unbreakable struggle of the Ukrainian people and the living memory of the tragedy and the revival of Ukrainian identity, and is part of the social project Kyivshchyna. Places of Memory".

There is a monument to Kobzar, who was deliberately shot by the occupiers. And next to it is a pavilion of murals on fragments of the walls of destroyed buildings, which includes one of the most famous works by the British artist Banksy: a child gymnast performing a handstand on the rubble of a destroyed house.

We used light to unite all the key elements, turning the space into a single coherent story of memory. Using different types of lighting on the same pole, we focus on the monument, revealing its relief, functionally illuminate the area around it, and illuminate the trees. We gently emphasized the murals with the help of laconic lamps. We design and manufacture all the luminaires ourselves at Expolight Instruments, focusing on the specifics of each project.

The oboe projection became a special detail - we showed the famous, still relevant, lines of the poet about invincibility, dignity and faith in victory with light, adding a voice to this space that sounds through the darkness.
