"Душа" на Zurich Design Week

The Soul installation has an important task: to highlight those architectural objects that have been forgotten or are in need of restoration. The Soul will also be present in Zurich at this year's Zurich Design Week to remind and draw attention to the oldest railway station in Zurich. The Soul's lighting effects will try to restore the memory of the city's residents of an architectural monument that has lost its former importance over time.

The facade of the church was chosen to be illuminated for Kyiv Design Week due to its unique architecture, which harmoniously combines historical significance with aesthetic expressiveness. The building is one of the most recognizable examples of the neo-Gothic style in Ukraine, which successfully emphasizes the relationship between tradition and modern design solutions.

In addition, the church is located in the heart of the capital, and the Toronto-Kyiv complex offers maximum visibility. It draws attention to the event, promoting the popularization of design as an art form and cultural dialogue.

We have developed a unique system of:
- custom handmade glass filters
- a caustic laser;
- a moving mechanism;
- in-house developed software that controls and creates a unique combination of light refractions through the movement of light.

Specially for the installation, a unique audio accompaniment was created, symbolizing high intangible thoughts, dreams, prayers and aspirations, which are then transformed into a work of art.
