THE ART OF LIGHT AND THE UNITY OF TWO CULTURES

We are very proud that the installation “Soul”, which now represents Ukraine at Zurich Design Weeks, has become a real “cultural bridge”, acting as a symbol of the indestructibility and inexhaustible vitality of Ukrainians.

It was a great honor for us to personally meet and talk to Ms. Irina Venediktova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Swiss Confederation, at the opening.

It was especially valuable to hear her say that through this installation we are telling the world that Ukrainians are intelligent, educated, creative people, not just labor (as most people in Switzerland are used to perceiving).  It is an important and respectable mission for us to change outdated stereotypes through our work.

There were also a lot of artists at the event, who also thanked us with enthusiasm, they were amazed that Ukrainians had done this. Some of the attendees were in tears when they heard my speech about the conditions in which the Ukrainian people are living now, but they continue to fight, create new cool projects, develop, and move forward.

Together with the Kabluka Light & Digital Sculptures by Expolight team, we have created a unique system consisting of

- individually made handmade glass filters

- a caustic laser

- a moving mechanism;

- specially developed software that controls the movement of light and creates unique refractive combinations.

A special soundtrack was also created for this installation, symbolizing high spiritual thoughts, dreams, prayers and aspirations that turn into a work of art.

The space also exists in the virtual space, and you can get acquainted with it on the website that we created specifically for the event.

The website is a very important part of the artwork that brings all the elements together. There we talk about the philosophy of the Soul installation, its messages and values.

The installation will be open during Zurich Design Weeks from September 12 to 29, 2024, from 5 am to 00 pm.✌🏻😃
