ON THE WAY TO A NEW LIGHT IMAGE OF LVIV

“LIGHTING LVIV 2.0” is an important public event for the architectural community of Lviv, organized by “Podsviti Lichar,” where Mykola Kabluka was invited as a speaker.

This event was the first step towards forming a future group of specialists to develop a master plan for Lviv, which will take place this year, and we are proud to join such an important project as experts.

The presentation included a discussion of the following aspects:

✨how to form a hierarchy of light (main axes, squares, accents, quiet zones);
✨how to find a balance between aesthetics, safety, and comfort;
✨why it is important to work with scenarios and the “rhythm” of the city, rather than with a set of individual luminaires;
✨how to make decisions that are consistent with energy efficiency and modern approaches without losing the character of the city.

We also invited Roger Narbonne, a man who systematically shaped the concept of “urbanism of light,” to join Mykola's presentation. We talked about our experience working with the lighting master plan for Dnipro and how this methodology helps not to “decorate” but to build the nighttime image of the city.
