In May, Lviv hosted a workshop dedicated to the development of the city's Lighting Master Plan — a strategic document that establishes a comprehensive vision for the future of the urban nightscape through light.
LVIV LIGHTING MASTER PLAN: A STEP TOWARD A NEW VISION OF THE CITY'S NIGHTSCAPE
Our team was one of the workshop's organizers and patrons, making it possible to bring one of the world's leading experts in urban lighting, Roger Narboni, to Lviv. His extensive experience in developing lighting master plans for cities around the world became the foundation for the professional dialogue and hands-on work throughout the workshop.
The event brought together architects, urban planners, young professionals, and representatives of the city administration, including Lviv's Chief Architect, Anton Kolomieitsev. Over several days, participants attended lectures, analyzed Lviv's urban environment, explored its nighttime identity, and worked on contemporary approaches to integrating light into architecture, historic heritage, and public spaces. The outcomes of this collaborative work were presented at Lviv Urban Forum — one of Ukraine's leading platforms for discussing the future development of its cities.
Initiatives like this are an important step toward fostering a new culture of working with light in Ukrainian cities. Bringing together international expertise, the experience of Ukrainian professionals, the city's openness to change, and the involvement of the next generation of specialists creates a strong foundation for meaningful transformation.
We also presented the Soul art installation on the façade of Lviv City Hall. The caustic laser projection became an artistic reflection of the inner state of Ukrainians — their resilience, their ability to create, and their determination to move forward despite every challenge.
