THE UPDATED LIGHT ART INSTALLATION «SOUL» PREMIERED IN THE HEART OF LVIV

In the heart of Lviv, on the façade of Lviv City Hall, the updated version of the light art installation «Soul» was premiered. The presentation marked the closing event of Lviv Urban Forum—an international forum that brought together architects, urbanists, and designers to discuss the future of Ukrainian cities. As part of the forum, the results of the Lviv Lighting Master Plan workshop were presented. The workshop was co-organized by our team and featured the participation of renowned lighting urbanism expert Roger Narboni.

«Soul» is an authorial light installation that explores the soul as a symbol of creativity, freedom, and continuous movement. Using laser caustic projection, it creates unique light patterns that are constantly evolving and never repeat, making every moment of interaction with the installation one of a kind.

The updated version of the installation features a new light composition, an enhanced technological system, and, for the first time, a specially composed soundscape based on research into the electroencephalogram (EEG) waves of the human brain in a dreamlike state. The combination of light and sound expands the artistic concept of the installation, creating a space for contemplation and a new perception of media art within the urban environment.

The premiere of the updated installation was attended by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, Chief Architect of Lviv Anton Kolomieitsev, participants of Lviv Urban Forum, and numerous guests. We would like to thank the Lviv City Council for its openness to contemporary art and its support of projects that encourage new ways of experiencing and rethinking urban space.

For our team, it was especially meaningful to present the updated «Soul» to a Ukrainian audience and to witness how the installation interacted with the city's historic setting and its people. Moments like these reaffirm that contemporary light art can become an integral part of the urban environment, opening new forms of dialogue between architecture, technology, and people.
