About project

SOL restaurant in Chisinau is a space where light, architecture and nature merge into a single harmonious composition. This restaurant is one of the best in Moldova and has set a new high standard for many years to come.

The restaurant has three floors, and we worked on each of them together with a talented team of Boom Project architects led by Yaroslav Kovalchuk

SOL has three floors that combine modern elegance with natural warmth. The contrast of dark wood and metal accents is enhanced by copper and bronze tones - it was especially pleasant to work on them during on-site light modeling, emphasizing texture and color.

We have integrated high-quality biodynamic light into this space, which harmoniously changes the atmosphere of the place throughout the day. We also used light to emphasize various textures: hand-painted authentic frescoes on the columns, live plants, and natural materials on different floors of the interior. We additionally emphasized the copper elements on the ceiling - their abstract shape is emphasized by the sliding warm light, which adds depth to the space and creates a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere.

We would like to pay special attention to the central core of the establishment - a huge column with media lighting that changes throughout the day, focusing on the elite drinks that are located on it. In the evening, light scenarios add depth and mystery, turning it into a light art object.

On the terrace, we used patterned light to create an atmosphere that is in harmony with the natural environment. The lines of light change smoothly, emphasizing the textures and shapes of the space, giving it a feeling of lightness and calm, as if everything around breathes with nature.

All lighting elements with integrated custom luminaires are connected to a single system through our Expolight Cloud Control System, which allows you to control the lighting at the facility from anywhere in the world. For this project, we specifically developed our own different luminaires for each area of the facility under our own brand Expolight Instrument

  • The main idea is to enhance the feeling of harmonious interweaving of the man-made and the natural
  • We use different light brushes that make the space interesting, reveal natural materials in the interior, add texture and variety to it
  • Each texture is a unique element of the place
  • Light helps to emphasize the difference in atmospheres on different floors
