River Mall is the largest shopping centre on the left bank of Kyiv. Lighting design of such a giant is a serious task, given that the light here not only fulfils the decorative and lighting function, but also directly affects the attractiveness, and therefore profitability.

About project
The façade, covering 140,000 square metres of retail space, is dynamically illuminated with rgb media luminaires programmed into a single scenario using a sophisticated control system.
Having entered into the lighting design at the architectural design stage, together with the design team, we developed special slotted nodes to integrate the linear luminaires into the façade.
The rounded façade on the lake side is emphasised with a pixel grid. The dense coverage with spotlights allowed for different scenarios with shifting shades and dynamics. The cable grid is thoughtfully concealed in the construction of the façade finish. When the customer involves the lighting designers in the planning process in good time, it is always possible to lay down competent solutions.
The verticals of the façade were emphasised with light on the escape staircases by proposing a perforated metal finish for them, through which light pours, also linked to the lighting scenario of the entire façade.
On the roof terrace, the huge trusses were emphasised with light and it was possible to control the lighting scenes in this space.
