about project

"Playing with Fire" is a conceptual steakhouse with a history and character. It is located in an old building on Khreshchatyk - near the Ukrainian House - where the Kontorskyi Dom (Office House) was located in the early 20th century, designed by architects Joseph Zektser and Dmitriy Toriv in the late modern style for the son of the great sugar producer Ilya Zaks.

The lighting concept was designed to reflect the essence of the restaurant's name and give it a bright, vibrant look, both inside and out.

Thanks to Expolight's skilful approach, the restaurant's façade is transformed into a real play of light and shadow, where the fiery shades of the lights bring the architectural details of the building to life. Each beam of light has its own place, creating a dynamic pattern that changes throughout the night. This effect not only attracts the attention of passers-by, but also harmoniously integrates the restaurant into the night landscape of the street, making it a bright and unique part of the urban space.

The restaurant's interior lighting continues the theme of playing with fire, creating a warm, almost mystical atmosphere. Soft diffused light emphasises the textures of materials and highlights key elements of the interior, adding depth and mystery to the space. The lighting system adapts to the time of day, creating different moods and enhancing the feeling of comfort and cosiness, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the special atmosphere of the restaurant.

Thus, the lighting in the restaurant "Playing with Fire" becomes not just a decorative element, but a real art that breathes life into the space, making it lively and unforgettable.
