About the project

To commemorate the anniversary of the Ilovaisk tragedy, a memorial was unveiled to honor the ATO soldiers. The concept envisioned by artists Nataliya Abankova and Oleksandr Khudoliy was brought to life with light, thanks to the talented team of architects and designers from AIMM, led by Anna Iskierdo and Maksym Myatko. These esteemed individuals combined the themes of sacrifice, rebirth, and a bright future, which are inseparably linked to this place.

Shades of red and orange combined with cool white light symbolize pain, loss, and human sacrifices. They transform the atmosphere into one of anxiety and struggle. In contrast, warm yellow and orange hues evoke associations with warmth, life, and tranquility, symbolizing growth, rebirth, and the unification of people for a bright future.
