about project

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an outstanding historical monument in the Neo-Gothic style, built in 1884. Thanks to the light, we managed not only to emphasize its architectural uniqueness, but also to literally “revive” the history it carries.

We set out to bring out the graphic and textural nature of the building with the help of light, and to turn the building's imperfections into its highlight. By highlighting the textures and irregularities of the facade, we emphasize the historical depth and authenticity. The light in this project symbolizes the flame of a candle as a human connection to the divine.

We focused on the main elements of the building: the spire, the top of the tower, the tower itself, and the gallery. For each of them, we developed a holistic lighting concept.

The spire, which is visible from many parts of the city, became a special point. It is illuminated with gliding light, which allows to fully reveal the silhouette and give the church even more majesty.
